The ASEAN Sub-Committee on Space Technology Applications (SCOSA), the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will organise the Workshop on Spatial Data Infrastructure at the AIT, Bangkok, on 22-24 February 2007. The Workshop is a regular activity aiming to discuss and monitor the progress of cooperation activities in space technology among ASEAN Member Countries, Japan and AIT, especially on Geoinformatics Spacial Data Infrastructure (GSDI).

Representatives from the ASEAN Member Countries will present the progress on GSDI activities in their respective countries. Experts from the AIT and Japan will present and give lectures on design and development of SDI, standardirsation of data and ISO standards, contribution of SDI planning and decision making etc. Digital Asia Portal and Asia Map Servers will also be introduced by experts to the Workshop participants.

At the end of The Workshop, a discussion to discuss future collaboration activities involving SCOSA, AIT and JAXA will also be conducted.
