More than 200 scientists from around 25 countries participated in the APCTP-ASEAN Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (AMSN 2008) held in Nha Trang, Viet Nam, on 15-21 September 2008. At the Workshop, implemented jointly by the Sub-Committee on Materials Science and Technology (SCMST) and the Asia Pacific Centre for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), the participants shared their ideas and research work on topics related to (i) Nanophysics; (ii) Nanochemistry; (iii) Semiconductor, Magnetic, Polymer and Hybrid Nanomaterials; (iv) Nanoelectronics, Nanomachines and Nanodevices; (v) Nanobiotechnology; (vi) Nanommedicine and Drug Delivery Systems; (vii) Nanoparticles, Nanocomposites and Nano-Assemblies; and (ix) Computational Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Keynote lectures and scientific papers were presented in the plenary and parallel sessions. Scientific posters were also exhibited.
